Odisha: Noted social worker Lalit Nayak passes away

Bhubaneswar: Eminent social worker and labour leader Lalit Nayak passed away during treatment at AIIMS Bhubaneswar this morning around 5 am.

Nayak was suffering from bone cancer for the last few months and undergoing treatment at the hospital.

Nayak was active in student politics in Balangir in the 80s. He also played a major role in blood donation campaigns in the area.

He was the president of over 40 labour unions and led various movements to ensure the protection of rights of the downtrodden.
