Odisha People’s Manifesto for 2014 polls to be released on Mar 26

Bhubaneswar, Mar 25: The People’s Manifesto Committee ( PMC) , a civil society platform formed in connection with forthcoming general elections 2014 will release its final report on ‘People’s Agenda and People’s Manifesto 2014’ on March 26 at the Odesha Bhawan here at 11 am, convener of the PMC Sudarsan Chhotoray announced in a press release today..

The mandate of the Committee was to draft/publish the People’s Manifesto and share it with political parties in particular and people of the state in general. The PMC also plns to share the report with people in various districts through a series of meetings, Chootoray said.

Since October 2013, the PMC  had been working on the draft of the manifdesto for the Elections 2014.

Prominent organizations and networks were involved in this process through a series of workshops and they had submitted their recommendations. Apart from these, a-two days state level workshop was also convened during December 22 and 23 in Bhubaneswar to debate and discuss on certain points on which political parties had also shared their expectations. Meanwhile, a team was tasked to compile all those suggestions and to make final draft which in turn was shared and submitted to various political parties.

PMC had done a similar exercise in 2004 and 2009 elections.
