Odisha police arrest businessman for D-link

Twin City Commissionerate police today arrested a businessman for his alleged links with notorious gangster siblings Sushant and Sushil Dhalasamanta from Odisha’s Cuttack.

According to sources, the arrested businessman identified as Sarat Kumar Sahu was detained at Chauliaganj police station since yesterday and was questioned over sand quarrying business controlled by Dhalasamanta brothers. Based on the information, Sahu was arrested today, Cuttack DCP Sanjeev Arora informed media persons at a press conference held here today.

Sahu was operating a sand quarry which was leased out to him with the help of Dhalasamanta brothers, sources added.

Besides, police have seized two revolvers and bullets during a search at his house in Khan Nagar area here.

With this, the number of persons arrested in connection with D-links has increased to 31.

Yesterday, Chauliaganj police questioned eight persons from Cuttack and nearby areas regarding sand quarrying business operated by the criminal siblings. This apart, five other persons from outside Odisha were also summoned to appear before police in this connection.

Earlier, they were sent notices to appear before Commissionerate Police.
