Odisha police arrest land broker for cheating customer

Bhubaneswar, Mar 8:

The Commissionerate police today arrested a land broker on the charge of cheating a customer in the Odisha capital.

The broker Bibhuti Bhusan Behera (28), a native of Jajpur, had taken Rs 12.4 lakh from the complainant Chakrapani Sahoo in 2012 promising him to provide a good patch of land in the city.

However, Behera neither provided the piece of land and nor returned the money despite repeated calls of Sahoo.

The hapless customer later lodged a complaint with Saheed Nagar police on Saturday and the latter arrested Behera today and forwarded him to the court.
