Odisha police arrest six in Kalahandi minor girl torching case

Narla police today arrested six persons in connection with the torching of a minor girl allegedly by two youths at Madhupur village in Odisha’s Kalahandi district.

The arrested were identified as Bulu Das and a minor boy, prime accused, and their parents.

Meanwhile, police have recorded the statement of the victim, who is currently undergoing treatment at the Ispat General Hospital in Rourkela. Her condition was stated to be critical, hospital sources said.

Notably, the girl was allegedly set on fire by Bulu and the minor boy yesterday after they failed to gang rape her.

The two had earlier passed vulgar comments at the girl following which she told the incident to her family members.

Getting furious over the girl’s move, the duo allegedly torched her at her house in the absence of her parents.
