Odisha police arrest Timan gang member Jiten

Balangir police arrested Jiten Deep, a member of dreaded criminal Timan’s gang, from Therubali in Odisha’s Rayagada district last night.

According to reports, after getting information about presence of Jiten at his relative’s house in Therubali, a team of Balangir police conducted a raid at the spot and nabbed him.

Notably, police had issued non-bailable warrant against Jiten and nine other members of the gang on May 29 this year.

Worth mentioning, Timan and his 12 associates who are accused of extortion, tender fixing and land grabbing are currently lodged in jail.

Balangir police had arrested Srikant Kumbhar alias Timan on April 24 this year on charges of intimidation, assault, forgery, land grabbing, among others. Timan and his associates allegedly used to threaten people to sell their land at lower price than the market price.
