Odisha police conduct raid on Choudwar jail

Twin City Commissionerate police today raided Choudwar Circle Jail on the outskirts of Odisha’s Cuttack.

Police seized huge quantities of contraband, gutka, cigarettes, bidis and lighters from the possession of the inmates.

Though raids on jails are conducted in frequent intervals, the reason behind today’s raid was unknown.

It may be mentioned that the notorious gangster siblings Sushant and Sushil Dhalsamanta were shifted from the jail recently to Jharpada Special Jail in Bhubaneswar and Balasore Jail due to security reasons. This apart, members of Tito gang are also in this jail.

Besides, many associates of Dhalsamanta brothers are housed in this jail.

Earlier on December 3 last year, police had raided the jail in which contraband, gutka, cigarettes, bidis and a LED television was seized from the jail.
