A team of Twin City Commissionerate Police with the help of state reserve police (SRP) nabbed Bholanath Bhagat from Kanpur in Uttar Pradesh while he was on his way from Howrah to Allahabad.

Odisha police are bringing Bhagat to Cuttack where he will be produced before a local court. Later, the investigators are likely to seek remand of Bhagat to interrogate him for his alleged links with the D-brothers.

Notably, Commissionerate Police had raided the house of Bholanath Bhagat, the owner of Metal Syndicate, at his Ranihat residence on February 14 for his alleged association with the notorious brothers. However, police had to return empty handed as he wasn’t present at his house.

Police had seized several documents from Bhagat’s house which showed his business transactions with the Dhalsamanta brothers. He was in know of the developments from the abduction of Deepak Mallick alias Dipu and Om Prakash Swain alias Om to their murders, sources said.

Since the raid, Bhagat was on the run and police had launched a manhunt to nab him.
