Sambalpur, Feb 3:
An FIR was registered against former Odisha minister and senior BJP leader Jayanarayan Mishra at Hirakud police station for misbehaving with a police officer on duty today.
Hirakud police station IIC Tofan Bag has lodged the FIR against Mishra.
Reports said while Union Water Resources Minister Uma Bharti was on a visit to Hirakud dam today security personnel on duty stopped Mishra’s car for checks after it allowed Bharti’s car to enter the dam premises. Enraged over the incident Mishra had an altercation with the security personnel on duty resulting in a scuffle. Later following intervention of senior BJP leader Suresh Pujari, Mishra’s tempers cooled down.
“After the Union Minister’s carcade passed through the entry post Jayanarayan Mishra’s vehicle came. When I stopped him he shouted at me using vulgar words. He hurled abuses at me in vulgar language. He even tried to beat me and threatened me,” said Tofan Bag, IIC Hirakud.
“Even after knowing very well that I am a former minister they stopped my vehicle. I was in the protocol vehicle. What was the need to stop my vehicle? Which means he has misbehaved how have I misbehaved? Police is working as the personal worker of Naveen Patnaik. What more can I say?” asked Jaynarayan Mishra.
Mishra further said if the police doesn’t register his FIR he will move the court.
