The 108 ambulance services and call centres are operated by Ziqitza Health Service (ZHS) authorities in Odisha. The company had filed a written complaint in police station against repeated unnecessary phone calls.

Police have started tracking the numbers which have been making repeated useless calls to the ambulance services.

From November last year, 108 ambulance emergency has been receiving repeated calls from five numbers. These calls were being done for just chatting withholding emergency services lines to the needy.

The call centres are being manned by female staff from morning 7 am to 3 pm, and most of the calls from men are coming at this time. Interestingly, women were also calling  the 108 helpline to gossip.
Bhubaneswar DCP Satyabrata Bhoi has said that based on the written complaint given by the company, police has registered  FIR against the numbers making fake calls.

Even though the call centre of 108 ambulance is based in Bhubaneswar, the complaint will be forwarded to the respective police station in the concerned districts, he added.
