Odisha police to aid NCB’s Sushant death probe if need be

Bhubaneswar: A day after late actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty’s Bhubaneswar connection came to fore, Odisha DGP Abhay today said the state police will extend help to the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) if sought.

“Odisha Police will definitely help the NCB if needed by the agency,” the top cop said while speaking to reporters here today.

He said that it won’t be appropriate for him to comment further on the matter as it is being investigated by another agency.

“It is an individual case. Another agency is probing the incident. It won’t be appropriate for me to comment on the matter,” he said.

The Sushant Singh Rajput death case took a new turn after the WhatsApp chat details of Chakraborty were revealed yesterday by Times Now news channel.

As per the revelations by the channel, Rhea had sent multiple messages to her friend Simone Khambatta while she was in Bhubaneswar on March 16. “Dude, Bhubaneswar is the scene. Best weed ever,” Rhea had texted.

The NCB has registered a case under Sections 20 (b) 28, 29 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act against Rhea Chakraborty.  After Rhea’s nexus with the drug peddlers became public, the NCB was roped in on the request of the ED.
