Odisha police writes to Finance dept to attach realtor’s property

Bhubaneswar: Twin City Commissionerate police have written to Odisha government’s Finance department for attachment of seized property worth Rs 1.15 crore of Niranjan Rana, Managing Director of realty firm Maa Tarini Estcon Pvt Ltd.

“We have requested the Finance department to attach property worth Rs 1,15,13,318 which includes a Toyota Fortuner vehicle belonging to him (Niranjan Rana) which was seized during the course of our investigation,” informed Twin City Police Commissioner Y B Khurania to reporters today.

Niranjan had allegedly duped crores of rupees from hundreds of people by promising them to provide them with land in Cuttack and Bhubaneswar, sources said.

When Niranjan failed to provide land to these people after a reasonable period of time, in 2016 two cases were registered against him at the Saheed Nagar police station.

In one out of these two cases police have submitted charge sheet against him, sources revealed.
