The Detective Dog Squad of Odisha Police has been renamed as ‘K9 squad’ in line with current international nomenclature, informed Crime Branch Special DGP Bijay Kumar Sharma through Twitter today.
This apart, three German Shepherds have been inducted into the squad and shall join it after training, Sharma said.
Canines of Odisha Police are trained in explosive & narcotic detection, besides tracking in BSF Academy, Sharma added.
