Odisha Rath Yatra: Over 400 buses to run on Puri route

To facilitate the travel of devotees from across the state, the Odisha government has decided to ply over 400 private and government -owned special buses on the Puri route during the Rath Yatra,  Bahuda Yatra and Suna Vesha.

According to reports, more than 350 private 48 buses of the Odisha State Road Transportation Corporation (OSRTC) would ply on the Puri route.

OSRTC would open an information centre for the passengers at the Kalpana Square in the state capital to provide information about its Puri-bound buses.

“We have made special arrangements like drinking water facility in the buses during the period,” OSRTC DGM of OSRTC Sudhir Kumar Behera said.

Replying to the demand of the Private Bus Owners’ Association to hike the bus fare during the festival, Behera said the OSRTC would not hike its bus fare.
