Several leading players of the realestate industry in Odisha today launched a new outfit called the Association for Odisha Real-estate Developers (AFORD) in order to reduce the trust deficit between the developers and the customers “by maintaining clarity in business so that the customers will face no hurdles in getting their dream home in the city”.

Launching the outfit and unveiling the official logo of AFORD, Odisha’s Housing and Urban Development Minister Puspendra Singh Deo, who was the chief Guest on the occasion, said he was glad that Odisha now has a new realestate body and hoped the association will work for betterment of the industry by maintaining the transparency and wining the trust of the public.

The minister informed that his government is taking steps and bringing in enw policies to facilitate the realestate industry, which is facing a trust deficit at the moment. Strict action will be taken against the violators, who do not follow the rules and regulations while conducting business in this sector.

Inaugurating the website of the outfit as www.aford.co.in, the vice-chairman of BDA and Commissioner of BMC Dr Krishan Kumar congratulated AFORD members for forming the new association.

AFORD should abide by the rules and regulations of the BDA as well as the Odisha Government, he said.

Er. Umesh Patnaik, president of AFORD said, “We have formed this association by taking as members a group of ethically practising builders who abide by all government rules and operate in a transparent manner in the field of realestate in our state”. He also welcomed other real estate associations to set up a common platform to address the common issues of the fraternity.

On the occasion, a seminar on ‘Challenges in development of Bhubaneswar Development Planned Area’ was organised by the AFORD.

Among others, Ananta Narayan Jena, Mayor BMC, Nitish Ranjan Nanda, general secretary of AFORD, MP Prasanna Patsani and MP Sidhanta Mohapatra also spoke on the occasion.
