Odisha reels under unrelenting cold wave

The unrelenting cold wave has disrupted normal life in Odisha.

A Met office release this evening said Phulbani recorded the lowest temperature at 2.8 degree Celsius today while 12 places recorded temperatures below 10 degree.

They are Baripada (9.5), Jharsuguda (9.6), Keonjhar (7.5), Sundargarh (9.9), Hirakud (8.9), Talcher (9.9), Bhawanipatna (7.5), Bolangir (9.3), Koraput (6.5), Titlagarh (9.5), Malkangiri (8.6) and Daringbadi (6.5).

Besides, temperature hovered between 10 and 13 degree in Baleswar (11.1), Chandbali (13.2), Cuttack (12.6), Bhubaneswar (12.8), Angul (10.6), Sambalpur (10.3), Sonepur (11.2) and Dhenkanal (10.3).

Some areas Kandhamal, Keonjhar and south interior districts experienced mild snowfall this morning.

The Met office has predicted that the cold wave condition would persist till next week up to December 29.
