Odisha: Renowned medicine specialist Rajkishore Das breathes his last at 87
Cuttack: Noted medicine specialist Professor Dr. Rajkishore Das passed away today at his residence in Tulasipur of Cuttack. He was 87. He was cremated at the crematorium in Khannagar later in the evening.
A source said that apart from practicing his medical profession, the octogenarian was a good player too. When he was studying at erstwhile Ravenshaw College, Das led the tennis and football teams of the educational institution. Even to the extent, he became the tennis Doubles Champion in 1981.
The medicine specialist had bagged an all-rounder trophy when studying at SCB Medical College.
Das worked at several hospitals in different capacities including SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack as Head of the Medicine Department and as a doctor in VIMSAR of Burla.
Reserve Bank Governor Shaktikanta Das is his son-in-law. The elderly man was born in Mangalpur village under Nischintakoili block of Cuttack district in 1936. He had his schooling in the village.
Das matriculated in the year 1951 from Ravenshaw Collegiate School in the city.
