Odisha reports 1 more COVID-19 death, 51 new positive cases
Bhubaneswar: Odisha reported one more COVID-19 death after a patient of Ganjam district succumbed to the deadly virus, informed the Government today. With this, the total number casualties due to the virus rose to seven in the state, including three from Ganjam.
The deceased was a 85-year-old male and Surat returnee. The elderly man had hypertension with other comorbidities.
Besides, 51 new persons tested positive for the virus in the state taking the total count to 1103. The fresh cases are from Ganjam (4), Jajpur (5), Cuttack (9), Puri (1), Jagatsinghpur (2), Nayagarh (11), Angul (2), Mayurbhanj (3), Kalahandi (11), Sambalpur (2) and Malkangiri (1). Out of fresh 51 positive cases, 48 were reported from different quarantine centers and three are locals. Contact tracing and followup action is underway, said the Health and Family Welfare Department.
It is pertinent to mention here, the deadly virus has spread to 24 out of the 30 districts in Odisha so far.
