Odisha reports 136 new COVID-19 cases; count rises to 3386. Details here

Bhubaneswar:  The number of total COVID-19 positive cases in the state mounted to 3386 today after 136 more persons tested positive for the virus in the last 24 hours, said Health and Family Welfare Department.

Of the new cases, two are local contacts while remaining 134 have been reported from quarantine centres.

Of the total  fresh cases 82 have been reported from 14 districts: Keonjhar ( 8), Jharsuguda (4), Khordha (17), Dhenkanal (3), Cuttack(7), Kendrapada (1 7) Nuapada (2) Gajapati (7), Kandhamal (15), Kalahandi (2), Ganjam (3), Puri (3), Mayurbhanj (9) and Sambalpur (1). Remaining 54 patients are personnel of NDRF, ODRAF and Odisha Fire Services, who were under quarantine after returning to Odisha following post-cyclone restoration drive in West Bengal. 

Total 3333 samples were tested in the last 24 hours while 1,88,743 tests have so far been done in the state.  Contact tracing and followup action is underway, said the department.

With this, the number of active cases in the state rose to 1092. While 2282 persons have so far recovered in the state, nine have succumbed to the virus.
