Odisha reports 2819 more COVID-19 cases; tally at 75,537

Bhubaneswar:  The COVID-19 tally of Odisha today further surged to  75,537 with 2819 fresh detected in the state in the last 24 hours,  informed the Government.

Of the total fresh cases, 1691 cases have been reported from different quarantine centres while remaining 1128 are local contacts. Contact tracing and followup action is underway, said the Health and Family Welfare Department.

The fresh cases have been reported from all 29 districts with Khordha registering highest 443 cases followed by Cuttack (257), Mayurbhanj (219) and Ganjam (192). Total 11 districts registered over 100 fresh positive cases.

With the new cases, the number of active cases in the state rose to 24582.  However, 50,503 patients have recovered in the state so far.

It is pertinent to mention here that total 61,379 number of samples were tested in the state in the last 24 hours. So far 12,33,805 tests have been conducted in the state.
