Odisha reports highest single day spike of COVID-19 cases; tally at 2781

Bhubaneswar: Odisha reported highest single-day spike of 173 COVID-19 positive cases in the last 24 hours. With this, the total number of cases in the state mounted to 2781, said the Health and Family Welfare Department.

The fresh cases have been reported from 14 districts- Jajpur (19),  Khordha (9) Jharsuguda (1)  Nayagarh (7) Cuttack (13) Mayurbhanj (13),  Bhadrak (4), Kalahandi (2), Ganjam (64), Gajapati (10), Balangir (11), Balasore (11), Puri (1) and Nuapada (8).

Earlier on June 2, the state had recorded highest 156 positive cases. In the last 24 hours, 3611 samples were tested in the last 24 hours.

With this, the total number of positive cases in the state rose to 2781. While the number of active cases stands at 1167, total 1604 patients have recovered in the state. Eight persons have succumbed to the virus.
