Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Human Rights Commission (OHRC) today asked Jagatsinghpur Superintendent of Police Akhileshvar Singh to probe an incident in which a youth was hung in front a moving truck in Paradeep area.
Singh has been asked to submit a report within 15 days from the date of receipt of the OHRC order. The commission fixed the next date for hearing on June 17, 2022.
Based on a report along with photograph published by an Odia newspaper, the OHRC took up the matter suo motu considering it as human rights violation and asked the SP to enquire.
As per the report, a youth was hung in front of a truck in motion at Bhutmindia square in Paradeep for an alleged mobile theft.
The report added a video on the incident has been made viral as well.
