Odisha: Sambalpur University closed sine die for student unrest

Sambalpur: Sambalpur University in Odisha was closed sine die today following sporadic incidents of violence inside the campus ahead of the students’ union elections. The university had earlier cancelled the polls citing “campus violence” due to group clash.

The ABVP and BJD’s student wing are not happy with the decision of the university authorities.

The ABVP leaders alleged that the university authorities are under pressure for which they cancelled the polls

Amid sporadic violence, the aspiring candidates from various colleges have filed nomination papers today. The elections are scheduled to be held on October 11.
