Odisha sanctions Rs 225 crore for combating coronavirus

Bhubaneswar: An amount of Rs 225 crore was today sanctioned from the State Disaster Response Fund for containment of COVID-19 in Odisha.

A decision in this regard was taken at a meeting held under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary Asit Kumar Tripathy here this evening. The amount was sanctioned in the favour of the Health & Family Welfare Department.

The fund will be utilized for measures for quarantine, sample collection, screening, provision for temporary accommodation, food, medical care, etc. for the people sheltered in quarantine camps, cluster containment operations, setting up of additional testing labs and procurement of essential equipment, personal protective gears, etc.
