Odisha-Saurashtra Ranji Match: Speedsters rule the roost on Day 2

Carrying forward their overnight score at zero for no loss, the Odisha batsmen collapsed like a pack of cards on the second day of the Group-B Ranji Trophy league against Saurashtra at Barabati Stadium here today.

While P Patel was the top scorer for Odisha with 27 runs, Nataraj Behera scored 19 and GG Rout put up 18 runs on board. However, remaining eight batsmen failed to reach double figure. Odisha lost their last five wickets for 11 runs.

For Saurashtra, S Tyagi was the pick of the bowler claiming five wickets and his opening partner JD Unadkat with three wickets while SK Trivedi and CS Jani shared one wicket each.

Taking first innings lead of 130 runs, Saurashtra lost six wickets for a meagre 64 runs in their second innings at close of play with an overall lead of 194 runs.

Saurashtra’s SP Jackson was the top scorer with 19 runs followed by JN Singh (15) and SD Jogiyani (11) while SS Patel, CS Jani and AV Vasavada scored 6, 3 and 0 respectively.

For Odisha, DR Behera scalped three wickets while Basant Mohanty and Alok Mangaraj claimed two and one wicket respectively.
