Odisha: SCB junior docs threaten to go on cease work

Cuttack: Junior Doctors Association (JDA) of SCB Medical College and Hospital today threatened go on indefinite cease work demanding suspension of Head of Department (HOD), Urology.

Junior doctors have alleged that Dr. Dateswar Hotta, HOD Urology was engaging them in his nursing home and was forcing them to attend to his private patients.

The 450-member strong JDA at a meeting of its executive council today decided to cease work for an indefinite period demanding suspension of Dr Hotta.

“Our main demand is Prof Dr Hotta’s removal from all administrative posts and academic activities. He has subjected junior doctors to mental torture. He has made them work in his nursing home. All 450 members of JDA will take part in the agitation,” Dr Nihar Parida, agitating junior doctor.

The decision of junior doctors to resort to cease work is likely to affect healthcare services in SCB Medical College and Hospital.
