Odisha: School kids walk 15 km to voice grievances before Collector 

Mayurbhanj: Enraged by alleged physical and mental torture by Headmistress, students of Kendua Nodal High School in Shyamakhunta block of Mayurbhanj district today walked miles to the Collector office to raise their grievances before him.

Sources said 17 students, including girls of the nodal school walked for 15 km to meet Collector Vineet Bhardwaj this morning. The students alleged that the Headmistress has been torturing them both mentally and physically. they are not Besides, they are even being provided with adequate food at school.

Later, Mayurbhanj ADM Aboli Sunil Naravane and Baripada Sub Collector Dibyajyoti Parida held discussion with the students and assured them of an inquiry into the matter, sources added.

However, no district official was available to comment on the matter.
