Odisha: School teacher robbed of cash, mobile phones at gunpoint

Angul : In a broad daylight robbery, unidentified miscreants looted Rs 15,000 cash from a school teacher at gunpoint on Badahara forest road in Kaniha of Angul district today.

Sources said Bijay Kumar Pradhan, a teacher of Kumanda Jarasinga High School, was returning to his house on his bike, when three miscreants came on a bike and hit the former’s bike from behind. When Bijay fell on the road, the miscreants looted Rs 15,000 cash and two mobile phones from him by brandishing gun and fled the spot.

Bijay, who sustained injuries during the confrontation, was admitted to hospital for treatment. He later lodged a complaint at Kaniha police station.

Acting on the complaint, police began an investigation and launched a manhunt to nab the three accused.
