Odisha schools to reopen for Classes I-VIII? Here’s what Education Minister says

Bhubaneswar: As the Odisha Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) has permitted functioning of educational institutions across the state while announcing COVID-19 guidelines for the month of August, students are awaiting the decision by the School and Mass Education Department regarding reopening of the schools.

Minister Samir Ranjan Dash today informed that a decision in this regard will be taken after taking into consideration the guidelines issued by the SRC.

“Schools have reopened for Classes 10 and 12 students. Decision over reopening of schools for Class-IX students has already been taken. Admission process for Class-XI is yet to commence. Physical classes for Classes I-VIII will resume after the department’s nod,” the minister said.

The SRC has allowed all educational institutions including coaching centres to function as per the guidelines issued by respective departments (School & Mass Education and Higher Education departments).
