Odisha seeks 50,000 doses of CorBEvax COVID vaccine from Centre for precaution dose

Bhubaneswar: Amid gradual rise in COVID-19 cases in Odisha, the State Government has sought 50,000 doses of CorBEvax COVID vaccine from the Centre for the purpose of administering precaution dose to people.

Bijaya Kumar Panigrahy, Director of Family Welfare, Odisha has written a letter in this regard to the Union Health Ministry.

“There is a rise in COVID cases in Odisha. Also, there is a demand from public for precaution dose vaccination at Government CVCs,” Panigrahy said in the letter.

He requested the ministry for supplying at least 50,000 doses of CorBEvax vaccine with long expiry, as early as possible.

Notably, Odisha today reported 141 fresh COVID-19 cases as the number of active cases in the state surged to 731.
