Bhubaneswar: With the onset of winter, peopleĀ in various parts of Odisha have started experiencing cold waves with 11 places in the state recording temperature below 15 degree Celsius in the past 24 hours.
As per the Regional MeT Centre, Sonepur recorded the lowest temperature of 9.6 degree Celsius followed by Phulbani and Daringbadi with 10.5 degree Celsius each.
Other places that recorded temperature below 15 degree Celsius are Angul (11), Koraput (11.6) , Bhawanipatna (12.2), Jharsuguda (13) , Keonjhar (13.8), Baripada (14.2), Balangir (14.6) and Sambalpur (14.7). With chilly mornings and cold nights, people are shivering in these regions.
Similarly, the minimum temperature in Twin City Bhubaneswar and Cuttack stood at 18 and 16.8 degree Celsius, respectively.
The weathermen yesterday said as cold and dry wave from north and north-west direction is entering into Odisha, northern districts in he state may witness a decline in minimum temperature by two to three degree Celsius. And the temperature may fall by three to four degree Celsius in southern Odisha districts inĀ next few days.
