Odisha social worker Pitabas Pani dies

Well known social worker and former secretary of the Kali Puja committee of Satya Nagar in the Odisha capital Pitabas Pani passed away at his residence here this evening.

He was 83.

His two sons, daughters-in-law and grandchildren were by his side when he breathed his last.

Pitabas Babu, who worked as an auditor at the AG office here, devoted his post-retirement life to social work and public welfare.

He was the secretary of the Satya Nagar Kali Puja Committee for years and had earned the respect of people for his sense of dedication and selfless service.

He was the younger brother of noted publisher and founder of Odia literary magazine ‘Samabesh’ Late Jagadish Pani.
