Odisha: Special drive to check vehicles used for carrying students from April 20

Bhubaneswar: The Regional Transport Offices (RTOs) across the State will launch a special drive to check of buses and other light vehicles used for carrying school students from April 20, 2022 to April 27, 2022. However, there will be no checking on Sunday.

The Transport Commissioner of the State Transport authority asked the RTOs to issue challans to the vehicles plying without valid certificate of fitness, permit, insurance, PUC certificate, tax etc.

Also, the vehicles carrying excess students than capacity and drivers driving the school buses without DL and violating other provision of law will be checked.

The emphasis of the checking will ensure safe transport of school students. The RTOs must submit the special drive compliance report on April 28, 2022.
