Odisha sprinter Dutee Chand’s car meets accident; one killed

Jajpur: A person lost his life and another sustained grievous injuries after a car, reportedly belonging to sprinter Dutee Chand, hit a truck from rear on NH-16 near Biju Nagar under Kuakhia police limits in Odisha’s Jajpur district this morning.

According to reports, Utkal Guni (25) and Dhaneswar Das (24), two relatives of Chand, went out with the car to learn driving.

However, they lost control over the wheels following which the vehicle dashed against a stationary paddy-laden truck near Biju Nagar.

While Guni died on the spot following the accident, Das was rescued by police and admitted to hospital in a critical condition.
