Odisha: Student jumps from three-storey building for scoring 2nd division in Plus II exams

Balasore: In a shocking incident, a student reportedly attempted suicide by jumping off a three-storey building in Balasore district of Odisha as she was distressed over her results after the Plus II Science and Commerce results were announced today. The student was identified as Itishree, daughter of one Laxman Mahal in Simulia village under Nilagiri NAC of the district.

As per reports, after the results were announced, Itishree, a Plus II Science student, got upset as she had scored second division in the examinations. Extremely distressed, she went to the terrace of her home and jumped off the three-storey building as an attempt to end her life. Though she survived miraculously, she suffered grievous injuries. Family members rushed her immediately to Nilagiri hospital. But as her condition deteriorated, she was referred to the district headquarters hospital.
