Odisha tea vendor donates Rs 20k for fight against Covid-19

Bolangir: Joining the fight against the Coronavirus pandemic, a tea seller from Odisha has come forward to donate for the cause.

In Bolangir, a tea seller Rupdhar Kumura of Chuadapali village donated his year’s savings of Rs 20,000 to the Red Cross Fund to help those affected by the deadly virus. He met the District Emergency Officer(DEO) of Bolangir district and handed over the cheque.

I did my part by donating money whatever I saved last year. We all have to help humanity to recover from the crisis, Kumura said.

During this turbulent time where his business has been severely affected due to the ongoing lockdown across the state, he has emptied his savings without even giving a second thought. The gesture has earned him many praises and has become the talk of the town now.

In Odisha, the number of covid-19 cases has reached to 44 so far.
