Odisha teacher commits suicide over loan burden

Berhampur: Teacher of a government school allegedly committed suicide over loan burden at Nuabedha in Kabisuryanagar area of Odisha’s Ganjam district today.

Body of the deceased, identified as Mohan Rao, was found hanging from a tree near a pond. He was working as a teacher at a government school in Vetasingi village.

It is being claimed that he took the extreme step as he was under immense stress for repaying loan. Police have recovered the body and sent it for post-mortem. Further investigation into the matter is underway.
