Odisha teachers hit streets, perform Lakshmi puja on road

Bhubaneswar: Repeating old approach to draw eyeball of commuters as well as media, a teachers association today staged protest over various demands during ongoing winter session of Odisha Assembly.

The 2012-batch non-OTET teachers association launched hunger strike after performing rituals to worship Goddess Lakshmi on first Thursday of Hindu calendar Margasir month on Mahatma Gandhi Marg at Lower PMG area in Bhubaneswar.

The protestors sat on dharna demanding abolition of Odisha Teacher Eligibility Test (OTET) system and regularisation of 2012-batch Sikhya Sahayaks.
