Odisha teachers to observe Sept 5 as Black Day

Bhubaneswar: Teachers staging protest under the banner of Odisha School College Teachers’ and Employee’s United Forum have announced to observe the Teachers’ Day on September 5 as Black Day.

The teachers’ body has also decided to shut down schools and colleges from September 6 onwards if their demands are not fulfilled by the State Government.

The teachers are on an indefinite strike at Mahatma Gandhi Marg here since August 16. They are seeking revision in the newly implemented grant-in-aid system which the State Government introduced after abolishing the block grant system in October, last year.
