Odisha to appoint Ayush doctors for COVID-19 duty

Bhubaneswar: In the wake of COVID-19 pandemic, Odisha Government has decided to appoint Ayush doctors for special duty at COVID care centres to fight the deadly virus.

In this regard, the Directorate of Ayush under Department of Health & Family Welfare, Odisha, has invited applications from the eligible candidates for engagement of Ayush doctors to manage COVID care centres.

The doctors will be appointed on contract basis for a period of three months not later than end of July 2020.

The engagement is purely temporary and can be terminated at any point of time without prior notice or assigning any reason thereof, a notification stated.

The candidates from Odisha below 50 years of age having requisite BAMS/BHMS degree from a recognised institute of Government of India or State Government shall be eligible to apply.

The Government of Odisha has fixed Rs 2200 per day as the remuneration for the Ayush COVID-19 warriors. The remuneration will be paid by the CDM and PHOs from the India COVID-19 Emergency Response and Health System preparedness package allotted to them for the purpose.

The CDM & PHOs have been authorised to conduct walk-in-interview in the respective district and select the doctors purely on mark basis in their final BAMS/BHMS examination. The application completely filled-in along with other documents should reach the office of the CDM & PHOs of the concerned district on or before May 7, 2020.
