Odisha to conduct OTET exam online

Bhubaneswar: In a significant move after OTET question paper leak in Odisha, the State government decided to conduct the examination online.

As per the decision was taken at a high-level meeting chaired by the School & Mass Education Minister Badrinarayan Patra on Saturday, the Odisha Teacher Eligibility Test (OTET) examination will be conducted online.

Without finding the reason for repeated error like question leak during the examination, the department authorities preferred to come up with a longtime solution by making the test online to select the eligible candidates for teacher post.

Notably, the OTET exam was cancelled by the Board of Secondary Education (BSE) on January 16 after the question paper got leaked. The photos of the question paper surfaced and went viral on social media during the first sitting of the examination.

Following suggestion from the Crime Branch, a complaint was filed by the BSE at the Mangalabag police station on Jan 18 in connection with the OTET question paper leak incident.

The BSE had earlier written to the agency seeking probe into the question paper leak and arrest the accused involved in the crime.
