Odisha Train Accident: 2 special trains to run from Howrah to Balasore

Bhubaneswar: While restoration work after the Odisha train accident was underway, the South Eastern Railway will run two special MEMU trains from Howrah to Balasore today.

According to information, a train will leave Howrah at 10.30 am while another is scheduled to depart from Howrah at 1 pm.

The trains will have stoppages at all stations between Howrah and Balasore.

Similarly, a special train will run from Bhadrak to Chennai at 1 pm today.

The train will have stoppages at Cuttack, Bhubaneswar and all major places enroute.

The train will also have a parcel van attached to carry bodies, if required.

On the other hand, all 21 coaches, which had capsized due to the derailment, have been grounded. Bogies/ wheel sets and other components were being cleared from the accident site, Railways Department said.

The train accident involving Coromandel Express, SMVP-Howrah Superfast Express and a goods train at Bahanaga in Balasore district on June 2 has claimed at least 288 lives.
