Odisha: Train services suspended on Khurda Road- Vizianagaram route for cyclone ‘Titli’

Bhubaneswar: With cyclone ‘Titli’ intensifying into a several cyclonic storm, the East Coast Railway (ECoR) today decided to cancel train services between Khurda Road in Odisha capital and Vizianagaram in Andhra Pradesh.

“As Cyclone Titli is likely to affect North Andhra Pradesh and South Odisha coasts, train services between Khurda Road and Vizianagaram will not be allowed after 2200 hrs and Up Trains from Howrah/Kharagpur side will also not be allowed from Bhadrak after 1715 hrs till further notice, the ECoR said in a statement.

“Down trains from Hyderabad/Visakhapatnam side will not be allowed from Duvvada after 1840 hrs and no movement of passenger trains will take place between Khurda Road and Vizianagaram section after 2200 hrs, till further advice,” it added.

Long distance trains supposed to pass through ECoR jurisdiction between Khurda Road & Vizianagaram, i.e. in Howrah-Chennai Main Line may be diverted via Nagpur –Balharshah- Vijayawada directions, if feasible. Some trains may be cancelled or may be cancelled partially as per the situation.

No movement of Passenger trains will take place between Khurda Road and Vizianagaram section after 2200 hrs, till further advice.

In view of consistent rain from early morning at Puri causing problem in train operations, it has been decided to reschedule the following trains.

20813 Puri-Jodhpur Express from Puri on 10.10.2018 will leave at 1945 hrs instead of 1555 hrs.

18405 Puri-Ahmedabad Express from Puri will leave at 2125 hrs instead of 1820 hrs on 10.10.2018.

18425 Puri-Durg Express from Puri will leave at 2330 hrs instead of 1830 hrs on 10.10.2018.

12882 Puri-Howrah Garib Rath Express scheduled to leave Puri at 2210 hrs (10.10a.m.) on 10.10.2018 will leave at 0500 hrs (05.00a.m.) on 11.10.2018.
