Odisha: Two killed in road mishap in Jajpur

Jajpur: At least two persons including an eight-year-old child were killed and more than 15 others were injured in a road mishap on Jajpur-Singhpur State Highway at Sayyadpur under Binjharpur police limits in Odisha’s Jajpur district today.

The deceased have been identified as Brajasundar Mallick (65) of Ranpur in Binjharpur Sub Division of Jajpur district and Ayush Mallick (8) of Madhuban in Kendrapara district.

Smrutirekha Mallick, mother of deceased Ayush, who was critically injured, has been shifted to SCB Medical College & Hospital, Cuttack as her condition deteriorated.

The other injured have been admitted to Jajpur District Headquarters Hospital and Binjharpur Sub Divisional Hospital.

According to reports, the accident occurred when a Trekker carrying around 20 passengers turned turtle near Ankulia Bridge at Sayyadpur on the Jajpur-Singhpur State Highway at around 4.30 pm after its driver lost control over the wheels.
