Balasore: Two persons were killed and two others sustained grievous injuries when two trucks collided on National Highway-16 in Odisha’s Balasore district.
The incident occurred at Chapulia Chhak near Soro in Balasore in the early morning today.
The two truck drivers were died on the spot while two helpers sustained critical injuries and were later admitted to Soro Community Health Centre.
One of the deceased has been identified as Ratikanta Das of Jaleswar in Balasore district, while the identity of other driver is yet to be ascertained, police said.
On getting information, police reached the accident spot and sent the bodies for postmortem.
According to sources, a truck bearing Rajasthan number and a truck having Odisha number collided head on at around 3 am leaving two drivers dead on the spot.
The reason behind the accident is yet to be known.
