Odisha: Vegetable vendor run over by truck; another hurt  

Balasore: A person died while another sustained grievous injuries after a truck ran over them on NH-60 near Sahupada in Balasore district in wee hours today.

The deceased has been identified as Surendra Das, a vegetable vendor of Gandarada village under Remuna block in the district.

Sources said Surendra and Niranjan Giri were going to Nua Bazaar here on their cycles at around 4 AM today to sell vegetables. A speeding truck coming from the behind hit the duo and fled.

While Surendra died on the spot, Niranjan was admitted to a hospital in critical condition. On receiving information, police began an investigation into the incident.
