Odisha Vigilance raid: R&B Division Engineer found in possession of assets worth crores

Bhubaneswar: Ajay Kumar Senapati, Asst. Engineer (R & B) Division-II, Balasore was found in possession of assets worth crores of rupees following raids by the Odisha Vigilance in a disproportionate assets case.

The assets include two multi storeyed buildings, a flat, 11 plots, bank and insurance deposits etc. worth approx Rs 95 lakh and Rs.1.22 lakh in cash.

During house searches so far, the following assets have been unearthed in the name of Senapati and his family members

1) One triple storeyed building at Harachandi sahi, Puri.

2) One double storeyed building at Kulakundhei, Chilika, Khurdha.

3) One 1-BHK Flat in 2nd Floor of Ananya Palm Beach, Puri.

4) 11 Plots in and around Bhubaneswar, Puri & Chilika. The measurement and valuation/ assessment of the buildings/ flat/ plots is being carried out by Vigilance Technical Wing.

5) Cash Rs.1,22,500/-.

6) Bank, Postal & Insurance deposits worth approx Rs.95 Lakhs.

7) 1 four wheeler (TATA Nexon XZ).

8) 3 two wheelers.

Simultaneous house searches were being conducted by the Odisha Vigilance led by 4 DSPs, 10 Inspectors, 2 Sub-inspectors and other staff on the strength of search warrants issued by Special Judge, Vigilance, Bhubaneswar.

Till last reports came in, the raids were underway while the total value of his movable and immovable properties was yet to be calculated by the anti-corruption agency.
