Odisha Vigilance raids residence, office of GST Officer

Bhubaneswar: Residence and office of Alekha Mohananda, Assistant Commercial Tax & GST Officer, Rourkela were today raided by the officials of Odisha Vigilance on charges of possession of assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.

Officers of the anti-corruption agency conducted simultaneous searches at Mohananda’s residential building at Uditnagar, Rourkela, native house at village Mangaspur under Bhasma police limits in Sundargarh district, house of relatives at village Chakarpur under Gopalpur police limits in Sundargarh, and his office chamber in Rourkela on the strength of search warrants issued by Special Judge, Vigilance, Sundargarh.

As per Vigilance sources, Mohananda was found in possession of assets worth Rs 1.34 crore while further investigation was underway.
