Odisha Vigilance officials today seized Rs 7.5 lakh from the car of Malkangiri Rural Development Department’s execute engineer Ramesh Chandra Jali.

According to reports, Jali’s car was stopped by a Vigilance team in front of Mathili police station when he was travelling in the vehicle. The team searched the car and found Rs 7.5 lakh from it.

Following the incident, Jali and a contractor who was travelling with the official in the car were detained for interrogation. Raids were conducted at Jali’s office here and residence in Jeypore.
