Odisha weather update: Thunderstorm alert for 7 more districts

Bhubaneswar: The Met Department predicted thunderstorm for seven more districts of coastal Odisha today.

Parts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Cuttack, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Keonjhar and Nayagarh will experience moderate thunderstorm and lightning.

Light rainfall and wind gusting at 40 kmph will also lash these areas between 5:45 pm and 8:45 pm today, as per the latest weather bulletin.

Such weather conditions will also prevail in Dhenkanal that was issued similar thunderstorm warnings earlier in the afternoon

According to the Regional Meteorological Centre, thunderstorm and lightning were likely in one or two places in Angul, Gajapti, Ganjam, Kandhamal, Koraput, Malkangiri and Rayagada between 4:15 pm and 7:15 pm, today.

On the other hand, heat wave condition is likely to occur in some parts over the districts of Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Kalahandi, Bolangir, Malkangiri, Bargarh, Sonepur, Nuapada and Boudh from April 27 till 29, informed Bhubaneswar Meteorological Centre in a release.
